North Vancouver Model United Nations (NVMUN) is a student-run conference. This page explains what personal information we collect through nvmun.org and our related sign-in and account sites (staff.nvmun.org, my.nvmun.org, agent.nvmun.org and chair.nvmun.org), why we collect it, and the choices you have.
We use your information to run the conference: process registrations and payments, assign committees and countries, let directors and chairs see their delegates and papers, contact you about the event, provide support, and keep accounts and the sites secure. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.
If you choose to sign in with one of these providers, we ask only for your verified email address and, where offered, your name. We use the email address to match you to your NVMUN account. We do not access your contacts, files, mail or any other data held by the provider.
Your information is visible to the NVMUN secretariat and, for the committee you are assigned to, to that committee's director and chairs. Your school's registered representative can see the registration status of delegates from their school. Position papers can be downloaded only by you, the director of your committee and the secretariat. We share information with the service providers that help us run the event (for example web hosting, email delivery, payment processing and registration record keeping), only as needed for those services. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Information is stored with our hosting and storage providers, which may process data outside Canada. Files are kept in private storage that is not publicly accessible. We keep registration and account information for the conference and a reasonable period afterwards for record keeping and planning the next conference, then delete or anonymize it. You can ask us to delete your information sooner.
Many delegates are under 18. Parent or guardian contact details are collected so we can reach a parent or guardian about the conference. A parent or guardian may ask to see, correct or delete a delegate's information by contacting us.
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information, or withdraw your consent to us holding it, at any time (some information may need to be kept to complete your registration or meet legal obligations). Signed-in users can end sessions from their account. To make a request, use the Contact page and mention that your request is about privacy.
If we change this policy we will update the date above.
